Road Trip!

I promised way back in December to take Jackson and his buddy Jack to the Lego store for his birthday. I kept putting it off for one reason or another, but it finally worked out for us to go yesterday. The boys had planned and saved for months. We were off by 8:45, which is a miracle in and of itself. We reached Discover Mills about 11:00 and decided that we would eat lunch and then find the Lego store.

Subway's lunch special was a meatball sub combo and it just so happens that the Wahl boys LOVE some meatball subs.

Rebekah was just chillin' and along for the ride.

It was so funny how excited they got when they saw the store. They were pointing and jumping up and down and saying, "There it is mom! Look!" It was a bit embarassing...me, 7 kids (one in a stroller and one in a sling), obviously homeschoolers (weren't at school on a Tuesday), getting pretty excited about a store in the mall (obviously don't get out much).

Darth Vader made out of Legos. Levi was pretty impressed.

I let them take their time figuring out what to purchase and tried my hardest to keep Sarah occupied. Finally, everyone had what they wanted and we headed back to the car so that I could feed Rebekah. We then popped in the Bass Pro Shop for a second so that they could see the huge aquarium.

Sarah was terrified of the fish. Jackson was trying to hold her so that she could see them. She just about clawed him to death trying to get away.

Some were as big as she is! I know that it looks like he is being sweet and helping his little sister out, but he really was acting like he was going to toss her in and feed her to the fish. Why do boys love to hear little girls squeal? Nails on a chalkboard to me...music to his ears.

It was a fun trip!

  1. I've been trying to think of something fun to do one day of Spring Break. I didn't know there was one of these stores so close. So glad you posted about it!!!! (Now to convince Jason it is a good idea)
